Sheltered in the arms of God
Early yesterday morning, Dottie Rambo was killed in a bus accident. It makes me think about Matthew 5:45 which says that...
so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
It makes me think that here on Earth, nothing is guaranteed, even for Christians. There will be trouble and heartache and disappointment. We can have joy here, but true, everlasting happiness doesn't come until we go home.
Although I found her music late in my Christian life, I've been none-the-less touched by her gift.
Here are the lyrics from one of her songs...
I feel the touch of hands so kind and gentle,
They’re leading me in paths that I must trod;
I have no fear when Jesus walks beside me,
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God.
So let the storms rage high, the dark clouds rise,
They won’t worry me for I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God;
He walks with me and naught of Earth can harm me,
Sheltered safe within the arms of God.
Soon I shall hear the call from Heaven’s portals,
Come home my child, it’s the last mile you must trod;
I’ll fall asleep and wake in God’s new Heaven,
Sheltered safe within the arms of God.
So let the storms rage high, the dark clouds rise,
They won’t worry me for I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God;
He walks with me and naught of Earth can harm me,
Sheltered safe within the arms of God.
Sheltered safe within the arms of God!
Because faith matters,
George
